Maria DelPico, BS
Maria joined the Geriatric Psychiatry Research Program as a Clinical Research Assistant in July 2021. Prior to joining, Maria graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BS in Psychology and a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Additionally, she worked as a research assistant where she wrote her honors thesis on the influence of affect and mental illness/substance use history on clinical reasoning among emergency medicine nurses. She also spent time working as an EMT-B. Currently, she works on disease-modifying clinical trials for Alzheimer’s Disease and studies related to treating the behavioral symptoms associated with Alzheimer’s. Maria also works on a longitudinal study of mood disorders and cognition across the lifespan as well as general recruitment for studies in the lab. In the future, she plans to pursue a career in medicine.
